Our Heart & Purpose
Children need families. It’s estimated that there are 8,000 children in foster care in Oregon, and 200 of those children are eligible for adoption and waiting for a permanent family.
As the body of Christ, we want to be His hands and feet to those in need – extending practical care, support, and a loving heart.
We do that by focusing on:
- Foster care
- Adoption
- Supporting families
Even if you can’t adopt, there are so many ways you can get involved. We’d love to have you!
Partner with Us
There are multiple ways to partner with us. Every way counts - whether you’re an intercessor or adopting a child, every person makes a big impact in the eyes of God. We’re incredibly grateful for you!
Prayer Team
As a part of the prayer team, we will strategically pray spiritual covering for our current and future Foster and Adoptive Families of Peoples Church. In addition, we will be praying for favor in relationships between Peoples Church and our Friends serving in local, county and state agencies. Finally, we will pray for resources needed – increasing faith, finances, and families to fulfill the initiative of caring for our Foster and Adoptive families.
Care Team
Care Team members will pass background screening, safety, and governing agency training so they may provide respite care – including evenings and weekends – for families with Foster and Adoptive Children. Care team members will also partner with our Foster and Adoptive parents/guardians with encouragement, relational care, and support.
Share Team
Share team members will support Foster and Adoptive families with meals, housework, yardwork, and more. They will also lead in the Christmas 2024 collection of five hundred Welcome Boxes – shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toiletries, undergarments, and encouragement to be given to children removed from challenging home environments and placed in foster care.
Prepare Team
In January 2025, Prepare Team members will begin a 9 – 12-month journey to prepare, train, and qualify themselves for full-time Foster and Adoption Ministry.
